A spacious, welcoming, and surprisingly versatile resort, tested by our family at Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa, with beaches, pools, great dining and services designed for everyone.

Tested for you

A resort that appeals to almost everyone

For a week, we stayed at Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa with our two kids, my partner and my parents. I especially enjoy visiting hotels myself, because nothing replaces the lived experience when it comes to advising a family, a couple, or a group that wants to be sure they’re making the right choice.

What struck me here is the balance between the lively large resort and the quieter corners. You can travel in family, romantic, wedding, or simply relaxed mode, without feeling stepped on. It’s a resort where everyone can find their rhythm, and that’s exactly what makes it a great option for several types of travelers.

The site is vast, but easy to walk around, with a real vacation vibe from the moment you arrive. You can tell it’s a place designed to multiply possibilities, without sacrificing comfort. For a first Jamaican stay, or for travelers who like having lots of options on site, that’s a big advantage.

Comfortable rooms to truly unwind

Our garden-view junior suite gave us a nice space to settle in without feeling cramped. Between the two queen beds, the sofa bed, the big TV and the well-laid-out bathroom, everything was practical for a family. The vibe remained neat, simple and pleasant, with a fresh feel that’s refreshing after a day in the sun.

I really enjoyed the comfort of the bedding and the room's quiet. It’s easy to sleep well there, and when traveling with kids, that's far from trivial. The whirlpool tub and the separate shower add a more refined touch, while keeping a functional side for everyday stay.

The photos also show a ROMANCE VILLA SUITE OCEAN VIEW larger and a bathroom opening onto a terrace with a private outdoor shower, which captures the spirit of the complex: spacious, bright accommodations designed to enjoy the stay both indoors and outdoors. If you like airy rooms, this is a strong point to consider. These small details change the feel of a stay and make the experience more memorable.

The understated luxury of Signature

The understated luxury of Signature Level

My parents stayed in the Signature Level section, and you quickly understand why it adds real value to the trip. The private entrance, the king-size bed or 2 queen beds, and the large terrace instantly give a sense of privilege, without tipping into excess. It’s the kind of section that suits travelers who enjoy comfort, tranquility and a bit more personalized service.

The private lounge, the reserved pool, a private beach, access near the large infinity pool, and priority access to restaurants nicely round out the package for those who want to treat themselves more.

I also liked the idea that the resort allows different generations to travel together while keeping distinct experience levels. It’s convenient when you want to please everyone without necessarily choosing a completely different hotel. Signature Level thus becomes a great option for travelers who want a bit more privacy but still want to stay in a big, lively resort.

Pools, water play and sea views

The pool areas are clearly another strength of the resort. The large pool with a sea view makes you want to stay a long time, especially with the lounge chairs in the water and spa-style jets that add a relaxing touch. Overall it’s clean, spacious and lively enough to please vacationers who like activity around them.

For families, the water park is a real plus. The younger kids have their own area, and the slides are well suited for school-aged children. With our kids, it was easy to alternate between quiet swimming and more active moments, making the days much easier to organize.

The photos reflect this variety well: a pool opening to the landscape, slides for fun, and an open view that reminds you you’re really by the sea. If you’re looking for a resort where water plays a major role in the stay, you’ll be served.

Top pick

The beaches, the true charm of the resort

My biggest love at the resort are clearly the beaches. The resort offers several, each with its own vibe: the large main beach, smaller quieter coves, and a wilder section at the end of the site. You’ll find white sand, sometimes so fine it looks like flour and sometimes with small shells, and turquoise water that instantly makes you slow down.

For swimming, some areas are more pleasant than others, but that’s also what makes the place interesting. Those who simply want to lounge in the sun will have their favorite spots, while snorkelers will have plenty to marvel at. We saw many fish, small crabs, a huge living conch and several hermit crabs, which fascinated the kids.

The beach photos speak for themselves: wooden swing, palm trees, straw parasols, lounge chairs and small calm coves. It’s exactly the kind of scenery that makes you feel you’re on vacation without overdoing it. If the beach is your priority, this resort really deserves your attention.

A beach to explore, from calm to snorkeling

The coastal landscapes at Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton really change depending on where you walk. At times you find a wide, open beach; elsewhere, the vegetation, the kayaks in the distance and the small coves give a more intimate feel. This variety creates a nice dynamic and lets you choose the vibe based on your mood that day.

The shore is also a natural playground for curious kids. Between shells, little sea creatures and rocky areas, there’s always something to observe. It’s a hotel where you can relax as well as explore the water’s edge, making the days less repetitive.

If you love the sea mainly for its beauty, the different beach views around the complex add a lot to the experience. You go from a peaceful setting to a livelier one, always with that very present turquoise water. It’s a great destination for those who want to feel the surroundings, not just sit on a lounge chair.

Flavours

Great dining without the fuss

We ate very well throughout the stay, and that’s an important point in a large resort. The air-conditioned buffet really impressed me with its freshness, cooking stations, salad bar and juices prepared daily. I also appreciated that staff systematically check dietary allergies, which is very reassuring when traveling with family.

The at-la Carte restaurants confirmed the good overall impression. We tried four of them, and each offered a satisfying meal, with different styles and consistent quality. It’s nice to be able to vary the atmospheres without having to leave the complex, especially after a day at the beach or by the pool.

The sports bar was a nice surprise for the kids, with games, billiards and foosball. It’s the kind of place that saves a night end or a little pause inside. When a hotel nails both food and relaxation spaces, you immediately feel the stay is easier to live.

Must-know

Excursions, service and final verdict

The service was excellent from start to finish. The Jamaicans we met were smiling, welcoming and always ready to help, which gives a very positive tone to the whole stay. In a large complex, this warmth goes a long way, especially when traveling with kids.

As for excursions, know that several outings require a long bus ride, so it's best to choose according to your travel party. We opted for a catamaran excursion to Seven Mile Beach and Rick’s Cafe, with a much more reasonable travel time. The day was sunny, lively and well filled, but I would recommend it more to travelers who enjoy lively outings than to very young families.

In the end, Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton is part of my Jamaica favorites. I highly recommend it to families, couples, groups of friends, and to engaged couples planning a wedding, who are looking for beautiful beaches, good dining, full facilities and warm hospitality. If you want to know whether it suits your travel style, I’ll be happy to help you figure it out.
